Christmas Greetings from the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew, @Kiwanis 23E & International ~@KiwanisNSA

KIWANIS CLUB OF NORTH ST. ANDREW (@KiwanisNSA)

Kiwanis Division 23East and Kiwanis International

FROM THE DESK OF HOWARD WALKER,

KCNSA PRESIDENT 2013-14

“Once again we come together as a nation to celebrate the birth of the Jesus Christ. Let us not forget the ‘reason for the season’.

As we continue to support our different projects and the persons that we have come in contact with, we want to assure them that life is precious and that whatever we do, it should be done in moderation.

During the season, reach out to the children in our communities as we ensure that we focus on our motto, “serving the children of the world”.

Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us and to also wish all the directors and members of the club, a Merry Christmas and Prosperous 2014.”

From 2013-14 Division 23 East Lieutenant Governor Ralston Nunes

“Fellow Kiwanians, I hope you are enjoying the beauty of this special day. We are now in the full swing of the Christmas season, with all the accompanying festivities and giving of gifts. It is my fervent hope that you will enjoy these celebrations surrounding the birth of Christ, God’s perfect gift to the world. It’s a time when I encourage acts of kindness that will bring out the best in each of us, as we give meaningful service to the less fortunate among us. Knowing that in serving others you are imitating the One who “came not to be served, but to serve”.

As we seek to honor this year’s Division theme “Reach out and Touch” let us take a moment to look within our movement to touch a colleague volunteer, a Kiwanian friend.

Gifts are always welcome, but at times a kind word of encouragement is sufficient and much cherished. Therefore let us fuel each other for the journey that’s ahead. I also implore you to be very cognizant of your own safety during this period. As unfortunately there are those who would seek to disturb your peace of mind with acts that defy the spirit of the message ‘Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All Men’.

From Kiwanis International President 2013-14 Gunter Gasser

“The holidays are a special time for our family. We have many traditions just like so many other families around the globe. Christiana makes Vanillekipferl, which is my favorite Christmas cookie. Our family also gets together to exchange gifts and celebrate the coming of the Christkindl.

While much fuss is made about the greatest gadgets and gifts this time of year, the first Object of Kiwanis reminds us about the importance of giving primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life. It has been a tenet of our organization since 1924.

Kiwanians serve year round, but now is an excellent time to extend your Kiwanis impact by organizing an extra service project for your club. Invite a friend or family member to join you. You’ll spend quality time with someone close to you while making a difference in your community.

Here’s a quote I love — ‘many small people, in many small places, do many small things that can alter the face of the world.’ That is what Kiwanis is doing. Club by club, charity by charity, we are changing the world.

From our family to yours, happy holidays.”

From 2013-14 KCNSA PR Chairman Clement Forrester

“Christmas is a time for most of us to focus on the teachings of Christ, love and giving. It is also provides a wonderful opportunity for us to pause, reflect and be thankful for our many blessings.

Let me use the opportunity to thank you for assisting with the noble Kiwanis mandate to improve the world one child, one community at a time. Thanks to everyone who made a contribution in 2013 and years past, whether it was goodwill, financial, meals for our feeding program, contribution of cash, kind, time, labour, thought, encouragement, advertising or via other channels and avenues. We know time is precious, time is money and you give willingly knowing we and our beneficiaries have nothing to give in return but sincere thanks.

On behalf of the PR Committee, President, officers and members of the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew, I wish our sponsors, contributors, visitors, well-wishers and their families nothing but the best for this holiday season and beyond.”

May your heart be warmed this holiday season with the knowledge that the children of the world live better lives due to your dedicated service as a Kiwanian.

Thank you for joining with us to make the world a better place. We hope you enjoy some well-deserved rest and time with family and friends.”

Happy Holidays !
