KIWANIS CLUB OF NORTH ST. ANDREW SPENDS LABOUR DAY (YET AGAIN) AT BUSTAMANTE CHILDRENS’ HOSPITAL
The Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew have for many years partnered with the Bustamante Hospital for Children in mounting a number of projects in the past, inclusive of building an Isolation Ward, Nurses Hostel and other facilities, These have all been done against the background of our major Kiwanis focus “Young Children, Priority One”. The success of these projects were made possible by our engagement of Corporate Sponsors and stakeholders such as Friends of the Hospital who assisted us then and continue to do so even now under challenging circumstances.
Our 2013 Labour Day project is aimed at cutting down and trimming trees on the premises of the Hospital. We have observed that these trees pose a threat to Buildings and Individuals, inclusive of young children who access the services of the institution on a daily basis. The need for this project is even more urgent as we approach yet another hurricane season and if left unattended could result in serious damage, should we experience a hurricane.
The project is being led by the Kiwanis Club of North St Andrew but will be joined by the Kiwanis Club of St Andrew, Members of Our Service Leadership Program and Members of Staff of the Hospital.
We use this opportunity to say thanks to our Corporate Sponsors who will be assisting us to execute this project.
This will be the first of a number of projects we intend to execute at the Hospital in the next four months.
