A new year provides an opportunity for many of us to leave the setbacks of the previous one behind and start afresh with renewed resolve – to not repeat the mistakes of the last, to do a better job with our various goals, to resolve unresolved resolutions, yadda, yadda, yadda, blaah, blaah, blaah…

Never mind that… you failed so miserably at last year’s resolutions.

Never mind that… less than a fraction of a fraction of a micro-fraction of a second separates the new year from the old,

less time than required to even think about waving a wand to magically change whatever that kept us from keeping last year’s resolutions or the ones carried over from the years before.

Life is never free from problems

 A friend of mine presently in a good job and earning what one might consider a reasonably good salary in Jamaican terms, recently told me that he was having great difficulty in subsisting financially. This he complained, was causing him great stress and has affected not only his health, but also his general outlook on life.
